Friday 12/30 Games:
GONZAGA WINS THE COMMUNITIES IN SCHOOLS BRACKET!!!
Gonzaga beat Effingham 51-31. Gonzaga lead the entire game. Nate Britt had 18 points and Kris Jenkins had 17 to lead the Eagles.Jakeenan Gant scored 14 points for Effingham.
BULLIS WINS THE ROTARY BRACKET CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!
Nigel Pruitt led Bullis to a 70-63 victory over John Carroll. Pruitt had 25 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Bulldogs were in double figures. Justin Jennifer had 23 points for John Carroll.
Goose Creek edged Berkmar 50-48 for third place in the Communities In Schools bracket. Raemond Robinson and Dantez Bennamon each had 13 points for the Gators. Yonel Brown had 14 points for Berkmar.
Wando beat North Charleston 58-42 for third place in the Rotary bracket. 11 Warriors contributed to the scoring with none in double figures. Wando shot 41.4% from the field. Bernard Samuel had 20 points for the Cougars.
In the 2:30 PM game James Island beat Timberland 55-51. The Trojans were led by Justin Bolus and JeQuan Perry each with 11 points. James Island was 44.2% from the field. Timberland was 48.9% from the field, but was 5 of 13 from the foul line.
In the third game we had the first overtime of the tournament. Don Bosco was down by as many as 13 points and seven points at the half. The Ironmen came back in the second half to take the lead, but Porter-Gaud tied the score at 45 to put the game in overtime. In the overtime each team scored 4 points to make a second overtime necessary. Porter Gaud scored 9 points in the second overtime to win 58-57. KJ James led the Cyclones with 26 points and 9 rebounds, Michael Preddy had a double/double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Paul Jorgenson had 13 points for Don Bosco.
In game two Northview defeated Ashley Ridge 54-49. Center Evan Jacks led the Titans with 21 points, while Kyle Meyer had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Romelo Doctor scored 27 points for Ashley Ridge.
In the first game Pinewood Prep beat Manning 78-42 and Coach Eidson has his 700th win!!. Pinewood had four players in double figures led by Reid Radebaugh with 19 points. Pinewood shot 54.2% from the field. Jamal Keels had 20 points for the Monarchs.
Thursday 12/29 Games:
Gonzaga won easily beating North Charleston 73-45. Kris Jenkins led the Eagles with 18 points and 9 rebounds. They will play Effingham at 8:30 PM Friday for the championship of the Communities In Schools bracket.
In the 7 PM game Bullis won a close game beating North Charleston 47-40. Nigel Pruitt and Russel Sangster each had 10 points for the Bulldogs as the team shot 29.8% from the field. Anthony Williams had 12 points for the Cougars. Bullis will play John Carroll, both teams from Maryland, in the finals of the Rotary bracket at 7:00 PM on Friday evening.
In a very close game Effingham County edged Berkmar 47-46. Jakeenan Gant had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winner. Brandon Thompson had 19 points for Berkmar.
In the 4:00 PM game John Carroll beat Wando 57-43 and will play in the championship game in the Rotary bracket at 7:00 PM Friday night. Justin Jenifer led John Carroll with 22 points. Wando had 34 rebounds to 29 for John Carroll.
With the score tied at 46, James Island made a basket with 1.2 seconds left and held on to win 48-46. Justin Bolus led the Trojans with 21 point and 13 rebounds. Kyle Meyer had 15 points and 13 rebounds for Northview.
Don Bosco defeated Pinewood Prep 54-49 in the third game of the day. Eight players scored for the Ironmen, led by guard Paul Jorgenson with 15 points. Keith Pinckney scored 23 points for Pinewood.
In the 11:30 AM game Timberland edged Ashley Ridge 42-35. It was a close game with Ashley Ridge having a 2 point lead at half time. Darryl Palmer led the Wolves with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Romelo Doctor had 13 points for the Swamp Foxes.
In the first game Porter-Gaud beat Manning 58-48. Two Cyclones had a double/double - KJ James with 23 points and 20 rebounds and Michael Preddy with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Breshaun Pendergrass had 14 points for Manning.
Wednesday 12/28 Games:
In the last game of the day Bullis School beat Pinewood Prep 81-52. Bullis had 4 players in double figures. Bullis had 43 rebounds to Pinewoods 24. The Bulldogs shot 51.2% from the field . Keith Pinckney had 16 points for Pinewood. Coach Eidson will try again for #700 on Thursday 12/29 at 1:00 PM against Don Bosco.
In the 7:00 PM game Goose Creek downed Northview 72-49. The Gators had three players in double figures led by Dantez Bennamon with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Meyer had 15 points and 20 rebounds for Northview.
Led by Adoni Rodgers' 13 points Berkmar defeated Ashley Ridge 53-37 in the third game. Berkmar outrebounded the Swamp Foxes 53-28. Romelo Doctor had 14 points for Ashley Ridge.
In the 4 o'clock game Gonzaga led the entire game and won 64-42. Nate Britt led the Eagles with 19 points, playing just 21 minutes. Justin Bolus had 10 points and 7 rebounds for James Island.
In the first game today, Wednesday 12/28, Effingham County beat Timberland 62-47. Jakeenan Gant and TJ Rines each had 20 points for Effingham. Darryl Palmer had 13 points for Timberland. Effingham shot 46% from the field.

Tuesday 12/27 Games:
Looks like Wando is ready to defend their 2010 title. Wando defeated Porter-Gaud 63-37. The Warriors outrebounded PG 50-26. Elijah LeGree led Wando with 20 points and 11 rebounds. KJ James had 14 points for Porter-Gaud. Wando's next game is Thursday, 12/29 at 4:00 PM against John Carroll.
In the 7:00 PM game John Carroll beat Manning 72-41. John Carroll had three players in double figures, led by Rodney Elliott, who had 20 points The Monarchs' Phillip Henry had 12 points and 10 rebounds.
In the final game of the day, host team North Charleston High School won their game with Don Bosco 65-49. The Cougars led most of the game and stretched their lead in the final minutes. James Brown led the Cougars with 25 points and Bernard Samuel had 20 points. North Charleston shot 52% from the field, while Don Bosco shot 35.6%. DaJon Todmann had 19 points and 15 rebounds for Don Bosco.
The Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic Press Conference was held at 12 Noon on Monday, December 5th at the Radisson Hotel in North Charleston, SC. The brackets were announced by Tom McTighe, the Tournament Director. They can be seen in the '2011 brackets' tab. The games scheduled for the first two days can be seen under the 'scoreboard' on the home page. Christopher Ibsen of Piggly Wiggly congratulated all the teams and expressed Piggly Wiggly's enthusiasm in being the title sponsor of the Classic. Jane Riley of Communities In Schools thanked Piggly Wiggly and all the sponsors for their support and wished all the teams good luck.
The keynote speaker was Debbie Antonelli, ESPN Basketball Analyst. She was a player at North Carolina State University and is a current television announcer. She shared some of her unique experiences as a player and announcer. She said she learned the importance of 'building up' players from her coach at NC State - Kay Yow. She encouraged all the players to play well, play tough and play without regret.
Danny Kassis, Tournament Recruiter, introduced the out of state teams which incudes several nationally ranked teams. Each of the coaches of the local teams spoke and expressed their excitement in being a part of the tournament and introduced their players and assistant coaches.
We invite everyone to come and see some great high school basketball and see some of the future stars of college basketball. Several of the teams are ranked in their state and also nationally. Coaches from some of the big college programs are expected to attend the tournament to scout some of the players.
The tournament will again feature the Joye Law Firm's Shoot Three and Win contest with the grand prize of $1,000.

The location of this year's tournament will again be the North Charleston High School on East Montague Avenue in North Charleston, SC. North Charleston High School underwent a major renovation several years ago and included the school's gymnasium. The North Charleston High School is and has been the host school for the tournament for all 19 years. The new gymnasium and other school renovations afford North Charleston HS the opportunity to have the tournament on their campus. The school has an Interact Club with the Rotary Club of North Charleston and also is served by Communities In Schools with its Student Support Program. North Charleston High School is in the heart of the old North Charleston business area and provides a neat environment for the Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic. The North Charleston community is excited and enthusiastic about the Piggly Wiggly Classic being in North Charleston.

March 23, 2011 Roundball Classic alumni abound in NCAAs
There are 21 players in this year's NCAA tournament that played in the Piggly Wiggly Roundball Classic. They are:
Local players include Milton Jennings of Pinewood Prep, who plays for Clemson; Joseph Tecklenburg of Bishop England, now of Wofford; Khris Middleton of Porter-Gaud, who plays for Texas A&M; and Drew Crowell of West Ashley now of Wofford.
